I was born and raised in a small town in southern Illinois, right across the river from St. Louis, Missouri.
I had an all American family - my dad was my brothers little league football coach, I was the cheerleader, and my mom made our school lunches & was a stay at home Mom - until that all came crashing down in 8th grade when my mom fell into a drug addiction. My parents divorced and my dad received soul custody of my brother and I.
I ended up dropping out of high school in the middle of my sophomore year. I went on to getting my GED and dreaming of the easy way out, so I enrolled into cosmetology school. I ended up dropping out of that, too.
The summer after I left cosmetology school I went to North Carolina with my best friend, Breana. She was married to a marine and he was stationed at Camp Lejuene. I was then introduced to Wil who would one day become my husband.
Wil and I hit it off quick. He visited Illinois and I visited North Carolina in the three short months we had with each other before he deployed to Afghanistan that November (2010).
Wil and I endured that dreadful seven month deployment and got married on June 24, 2011 when he returned home. I packed up my life in Illinois and went to North Carolina.
I found out I was pregnant sometime shortly after July 4th right after we got married. We were both so excited but lost the baby on August 10th due to a miscarriage. It was devastating. I wasn't giving up and we tried to convince until I got a positive test that November right after my 20th birthday.
I had our daughter, Audrey, via C-Section on June 26th, 2012, shortly after Wil left the USMC and we moved to his home town in New Jersey with his parents.
Now I am just a mama from a small town trying to find her place in a big city. I'm going back to school to become a nurse in the fall, and until then I'm just soaking up every bit of my husband, daughter & dog as much as possible :)
